The simple answer
Sleeping with drains is a logistical puzzle. The choreography that works: pajamas with internal drain pockets, dedicated bedside lanyard, sleep on the back or non-operative side, pillows positioned to keep drains from pulling. The Inspired Comforts post-mastectomy pj set demonstrates the design.
The choreography
- Bath-up pre-bed; clean drain sites.
- Pin drains to the pj internal pockets or lanyard.
- Set pillows: one between knees, one for arm support.
- Sleep on back or non-operative side.
- Don’t tuck blankets tightly — drains can catch.
The pj set
The dedicated mastectomy pj set has internal drain pockets at the chest level, soft fabric, button-front for nursing access. Inspired Comforts mastectomy for the design.
