If you’ve recently received something from Inspired Comforts, first of all, thank you. We know that during treatment or recovery, even getting dressed can feel like a challenge. You are not alone. Each product we offer is created with care and support in mind, and this guide is here to help you make the most out of it.

Mastectomy

How to Use: Mastectomy Clothing

A mastectomy is a surgery to remove one or both breasts, often as part of breast cancer treatment. Recovery after this procedure usually involves drains and tubing, which can be difficult to manage with regular clothing.

At Inspired Comforts, we designed a special line of adaptive clothing made specifically for mastectomy recovery. The same thoughtful design is also helpful for other post-surgery needs where drains are involved.

Functionality and Features

  • Interior Pockets for Drains
Each garment has discreet inside pockets that are soft, breathable, and easy to reach. These pockets are positioned to securely hold post-surgical drains without causing irritation.
  • Multiple Drain Capacity
Depending on the procedure, patients may have one or more drains. Our clothing is designed to carry multiple drains at once, keeping them organized and close to the body for comfort and safety.
  • Velcro Tabs for Tubing
Soft Velcro tabs are stitched inside the garment. These tabs gently hold the tubes in place, preventing them from tugging or getting tangled.
  • Securing Drains with Ease
Once the drains are placed inside the interior pockets, the tubes can be looped and fastened with the Velcro tabs. This keeps everything stable and discreet, so patients can move more freely during recovery.

How to Use Step by Step

  1. Place the drains into the inside pockets.
  2. Guide the tubing along the inside of the garment.
  3. Secure the tubes using the Velcro tabs.
  4. Adjust for comfort and close the garment as usual.

This simple design makes day-to-day recovery more manageable, allowing patients to focus on healing while feeling secure and dignified.

Chemotherapy

How to Use: Chemotherapy Clothing

Many chemotherapy patients have a port placed in the chest to make treatments easier. At each appointment, accessing that port usually means pulling down or removing your shirt, which can feel both uncomfortable and unnecessary.

At Inspired Comforts, we created a line of adaptive chemo tops that give patients easy port access while still looking like everyday clothing. They’re designed to protect your comfort and privacy without drawing attention to the medical side of your journey.

Functionality and Features

  • Discreet Zipper Access
Each chemo top is designed with hidden zippers near the neckline. These zippers blend into the fabric, making the shirt look like regular clothing.
  • Lockable Zippers
For added security, our zippers are lockable. This means once you close them, they stay in place without slipping open, keeping you fully covered and confident between treatments.
  • Easy Port Access
During treatment, simply unzip the section near your port. This allows nurses to access it quickly and safely without requiring you to remove or adjust your shirt.
  • Comfort First
The tops are made from soft, breathable fabrics so you can stay comfortable through long treatment sessions.
  • Privacy and Dignity
Because the access is built-in, you don’t have to expose more than what’s needed. You remain covered, secure, and at ease.

How to Use Step by Step

  1. Arrive at your appointment wearing your chemo top.
  2. When it’s time to access your port, unlock and unzip the neckline zipper on the side where your port is placed.
  3. Allow the nurse to begin treatment without needing to remove or readjust your clothing.
  4. Once the port is disconnected, zip it back up, lock it securely, and continue your day.

With this simple design, chemotherapy treatments become less invasive and more comfortable, allowing you to focus on healing while maintaining your confidence.

Dialysis

One of the most common things we hear from dialysis patients is how cold the treatment rooms can get. On top of that, dialysis itself can lower your body temperature because your blood is being filtered outside your body for hours at a time.

To make treatments more comfortable, we designed cozy and practical dialysis jackets. They’re warm, functional, and thoughtfully made so you can stay covered while still giving your care team easy access.

Functionality and Features

  • Dual Zippers on Both Arms
Each jacket has discreet zippers running along both sleeves. Whether your access site is on the left or right arm, the zipper can be opened from the wrist or elbow down to the access point. This means you never have to remove your jacket or roll up tight sleeves during treatment.
  • Two-Way Zippers
The zippers open from both the top and bottom, giving flexibility to only expose the area needed for treatment. This keeps you warmer and more comfortable throughout your session.
  • Plenty of Pockets
Dialysis can last several hours, so we added deep, functional pockets to carry the things you need most, a phone, earbuds, tissues, or even a small snack. Having everything within reach makes the time pass more comfortably.
  • Warmth and Softness
Made with soft fabrics and a cozy hood, these jackets help fight the chill of treatment rooms. You can stay bundled up without interfering with your access points.

How to Use Step by Step

  1. Put on your dialysis jacket before heading to your appointment.
  2. Once seated for treatment, unzip the sleeve on the side of your access point.
  3. Use the two-way zipper to open only as much as needed, keeping the rest of your arm covered.
  4. Allow the nurse to connect you to the machine without removing or adjusting your jacket.
  5. Store your essentials in the pockets so they’re nearby for the entire session.
  6. After treatment, zip the sleeve back up and you’re ready to go.

With these jackets, patients can finally stay warm, comfortable, and secure while getting the care they need.

Post Surgery

How to Use: Post-Surgery Clothing

After surgery, mobility can be limited. Whether you’ve had shoulder surgery, abdominal surgery, or even a leg procedure, getting dressed on your own can feel challenging. Standard clothing is often too restrictive, requiring help from others.

That’s why we designed adaptive post-surgery clothing that makes it easier to dress independently and stay comfortable during recovery. Our collection includes both tops and bottoms, each with thoughtful features tailored to your needs.

For Bottoms

  1. Sit in a comfortable position.
  2. Guide one leg through the open side, then the other.
  3. Close the side openings along each leg.
  4. Adjust the waistband with the button belt for a secure and comfortable fit.

Tops

  • Full Tear-Away Sides
The tops open completely on both sides, making them easy to slip on or remove without lifting your arms or twisting your body.
  • Shoulder Openings
Each top also opens at the shoulders, giving extra flexibility for patients who have limited range of motion in their upper body.
  • Back Tabs for Support
A soft tab is stitched onto the back panel, allowing you to hold the garment in place as you guide your arms through. This small feature makes dressing much simpler without assistance.

How to Use Step by Step

For Tops

  1. Hold the garment using the back tab to steady it in place.
  2. Slip one arm through an open side and then the other.
  3. Close the side openings and secure the shoulder tabs as needed.

At Inspired Comforts, every detail is made with your needs in mind. We are always here if you have questions about your product or want to share how it helped you. Your comfort and privacy matter, and we are honored to be a small part of your journey.
